Business Interruption Insurance
Protect your business’ net profit and ongoing expenses when you are disrupted by natural disasters, terrorism, and executive or employee death.
What Gets Covered?
Profits - Based on prior months' performance, a policy will provide reimbursement for profits that would have been earned had the event not occurred.
Fixed Costs - These can include operating expenses and other incurred costs of doing business.
Extra Expenses - Provides reimbursement for reasonable expenses (beyond the fixed costs) that allow the business to continue operating while the business becomes operational again.
Employee Wages - This coverage can help a business owner make payroll when they cannot operate, allowing them to keep employees on staff.
Taxes - This coverage ensures a business can pay taxes on time and avoid penalties.
What Doesn’t Get Covered?
Broken Items - If a loss is covered under your General Liability or Commercial Property policy, this coverage will not apply
Flood & Earthquake Damage - This is typically covered under a separate policy. Make sure to let us know if you are interested in this coverage.
Undocumented Income - Any employee income that is not listed on your business’ financial records
Utilities - Such as electricity, water, gas and internet
Viruses & Pandemics - Most if not all Insurance carriers will exclude this from policies. Generally, assistance is provided via federal or state mandated action.
